Professional Background of Dr. Roseann Rinear

The Preschool Source President, Dr. Roseann Rinear, has been in the child development and education field for thirty-four years. She has been a professor of Child Development and leadership at SDSU, UCSD, Cuyamaca Community College and San Diego City Community College for fifteen years. As well as being on the National Head Start Consultant list for four states, Dr. Roseann participated in the High/Scope Institute for Child Development Research in the United States. For ten years Dr. Roseann was a Divisional Director over forty schools for a preschool chain. In this position she supervised 250 employees, 4,500 children and a 20 million dollar budget. She worked with an overseas company and opened three preschool sites in Japan. Dr. Roseann was known as the expert on Corporate Care and in her division were NOSC, FAA, St. Mary's, and Bakersfield Hospital. Dr. Rinear worked for Head Start for three years and is well known as an effective and entertaining trainer for all three Head Start agencies in San Diego County. Her latest adventure was as the project director for an Early Reading First Project at two preschools in San Diego. This grant was a study to test the theory of educating and mentoring teachers to increase children's reading ability and vocabulary. Dr. Rinear believes that training for directors, teachers, staff, parents and children must be hands-on, meaningful and fun!

Professional Background of Conni Huntley

The Preschool Source VP of Training is Conni Huntley. Conni has been in the field of Child Development for over twenty-two years. She has been a teacher and Director's Assistant for an accredited church-related preschool and Assistant Director and Librarian for the Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Education Center . Conni is known for her creativity and ability to devise exciting lesson plans, curriculum and literacy activities based on her extensive knowledge of children's literature. During her time at the Kroc Center, Conni worked with several Charter Schools on literacy programs. She was instrumental in creating, planning and scheduling the Family Literacy Night at the Kroc Library. Her guidance and dedication helped expand the program from serving ten families to over 150 families before she left the program. San Diego Gas and Electric was so impressed with the program's success that they donated ten thousand dollars to the program. Conni is excellent at establishing collaborations, organization and staying focused to complete objectives. Recently, she has been working on San Diego 's only Early Reading First Grant with Dr. Roseann. Her expertise has assisted in making that project a huge success.
